CPT / STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH / SPORT AND PERFORMANCE COACH
Growing up in Surrey, B.C., Travis played competitive hockey, baseball, and golf. In his final years of high school, he decided to focus on baseball and eventually began at Douglas College with the Royals Baseball team while studying Kinesiology. Upon suffering a torn labrum of his throwing shoulder for the second time, he was forced to reinvent his future, and he set his sights on competitive golf. Having played recreationally through his childhood, and with his competitive drive, it took little time to become competitive at the Collegiate level. Having now won a collegiate event and multiple local events on the Vancouver Golf Tour, he competes against some of B.C.’s best athletes.
Travis is attending his final semester at Douglas College, finishing up his studies in the Bachelor’s of Physical Education and Coaching (BPEC) – Kinesiology program. He will graduate in February 2022 with a Kinesiology degree, a Management Minor, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) designation. As a coach, He aspires to help athletes and other highly-motivated individuals to optimize their health and performance. He believes that physical, mental, and emotional health are all important domains that contribute to overall health. Travis coaches athletes to adopt the “Kaizen” mindset to develop healthy habits, move better, think better, and perform better in order to become the best versions of themselves.
Travis is a lifelong learner who strives to grow as a coach, athlete and contributing member of society. His mission is to have a lasting positive impact on others through learning, reading, teaching, collaborating, playing, competing, and creating, to love openly, help others realize their true potential, and help his community to grow.
PGA of Canada / Golf Speed Coach
Ryan grew up being a multi-sport athlete in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. After years of competing at the highest level in youth hockey and baseball, he sustained serious elbow and knee injuries in consecutive years that forced him to step away from those sports. Needing to fill the void, Ryan took up the game of golf seriously at the age of 15.
Intrigued by the endless pursuit and individual nature of the game, his newfound passion fuelled early successes on the local junior and amateur circuits. After representing Canada at a number of international events, Ryan accepted a scholarship to play NCAA Division 1 golf in 2015. He has since attained a BCom degree with Honours from UBC’s Sauder School of Business.
Ryan looks forward to helping golfers of all skill levels, both juniors and adults, realize their goals and potential. Whether it be introducing a beginner to the thrill of a well-struck shot or helping competitive players prepare for their next tournament, he will take a systematic approach in an effort to improve your game. Golf is not a “one size fits all” pursuit, and Ryan strongly believes in mastering the game’s fundamentals but then utilizing each individual’s athletic ability to create a unique, repetitive, and proficient swing.
